Welcome to the Shanghai Bo Ai Children's Rehabilitation Center
, the city's premiere rehabilitation and special education facility for children with cerebral palsy, autism and other disabilities. Founded in April 1996, our center was Shanghai's first non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to the care, education, physical therapy and rehabilition training of children afflicted by cerebral palsy. With the help of the World Health Organization Collaborating Centre for Rehabilitation and the Hong Kong Society for Rehabilitation a model was developed that combined physical rehabilitation, education and nursing care for children with cerebral palsy. In particular, the
Centre utilizes the conductive education approach in combination with Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Shanghai Cerebral Palsy CenterWith ten years of experience and ongoing cooperation with official organizations, the Centre has diversified in its services to provide rehabilitation and education programs for children with autism and learning difficulties. As a result the Centre provides many services with the goal of meeting the needs of children with a variety of disabilities. Thanks to our experienced staff and an active training program involving internationals specialists, the Bo Ai Children's Center remains one of Shanghai's leading institutions for the care, rehabilitation and education of disabled children.

Cerebral Palsy is a serious condition, yet beginning proper care and rehabilitation from an early age dramatically enhances the quality of life of afflicted individuals. We provides services to children:

  • Under 12 years of age with physical disabilities including cerebral palsy
  • Under 12 years of age with learning difficulties and sensory
    integration impairments
  • Under 7 years of age with developmental delays including autism
    spectrum disorders
  • Under 6 years of age with speech and language delays

The Center accommodates twenty-eight full-time borders along with 12 day borders.  The Bo Ai center pioneered the adoption of physical therapy and special education best practices from the world’s leading research centers and remains one of China's leading centers for disabled children.
